Easy to use website, kept updated as to production stages
Unhelpful customer service in my experience.
I purchased a PC from www.computerplanet.co.uk in early June 2008 and I soon got a reply to tell me they had received it and it was going into production which pleased me. They had a couple of problems in getting 2 parts but they remedied that and again kept me informed. The PC turned up around 2 weeks after the order was placed but as it was a custom PC I expected there may have been a delay. That is where anything good to say about the company ends. On unpacking my PC I noticed that there was no mains power cable included so I had to email them to ask them to send me one. This turned up 2 days later and I plugged my new PC in, I then found that the PC would not boot up and all that happened was the power unit came on but that was it. I emailed them again to tell them this and they said to check if the graphics card and ram was firmly pushed in which i did but this had no effect. I emailed them again and they said they would arrange for it to be collected so it could be fixed. They collected it on Monday 30th June and it was not until the Friday that they even said they had received it despite me emailing twice. They then finally started testing it and they said that the CPU was not designed for the motherboard i chose and it would require a bios flash to make it work properly. This suggests that in that case it would of never worked and they claim on the website that they test PC's before they ship them. It is now 11th July and I still have had no word form them as to when I am going to get a working PC back. All I can say if everything goes well then this company is great, but from my experience I do not recommend computer planet.
