Internet and Automated Telephone Banking.
If you bookmark (equivalent to Favourites) HSBC on a Google toolbar they seem to lock you out of Internet banking and Telebanking. The only way to re-gain access is to provide a new password by phone.
I have been with HSBC since 1984 when it was Midland Bank. I have used internet banking since they first introduced it. I am a website designer. I tolerated their redesign. Why they insisted on using the unnecessary Flash image (moving graphic currently a lizard) on their homepage when their customer base is likely to include people with slow performance PCs and slow connections is not particularly inspired.
What shocked me more was that when I bookmarked their homepage via a Google toolbar, not only did it lock me out permanently but made my current password invalid! There are no warning about this on their site and it took aver 48 hours for them to rectify my account!
