Good Points

Pleasant (but apparently useless) call centre staff.


Bad Points

Did not have machine in stock that I ordered. Two failed delivery dates (to present time). Changed appliance model as ordered one discontinued by time delivery arranged!


General Comments

I cannot begin to express the apalling (lack of) service that I have experienced with Sainsbury's appliances online. I placed my order for a Hotpoint washer/dryer eight days ago. At the time of placing the order I was told the item was 'in stock' and that it would be delivered on 03.07.08. The evening of 02.07.08 I was telephoned by Sainsbury's to say that they were very sorry they would not be able to deliver my washer/dryer the following day as they could not find the item in the warehouse to load into the lorry. Hmmm. Should have set alarm bells ringing then? The following day I received a call to say that actually, the washer/dryer was not in the warehouse and in fact the model had been discontinued......I agreed to another machine that they had in stock so that it could be delivered on 05.07.08. Sadly, today I was contacted to say that they wouldn't be able to deliver on 05.07.08 as they couldn't fit the washer/dryer onto the lorry....it was full.....I think that is pretty poor organising for a company ironically called 'Expert Logistics'. After another several phonecalls (on my phone bill!) I have been promised delivery on Monday (07.07.08). Watch this space......I feel this is far from over.
