Good Points

On the good side, I found that the MP3 player was pretty easy to use, could fit a lot of tracks on and was quite cheap. I got mine for £24.99 from Curry's. The sound quality is pretty good as well. When the MP3 player messes up, you can always fix it by either reformatting or finding better firmware.

Bad Points

The MP3 player is extremely annoying in the fact that it has a lifespan of about a month. Mine played fine for the first couple of weeks but then refused to even turn on properly. The Matsui logo would just flash on the screen repeatedly and to turn it off again I had to remove the battery.
I've also had problems with the MP3 player resetting while in use and deleting half of my tracks. The recording quality isn't great and half of the time using the record function screws it up or the recordings won't play.
As I said, reformatting would fix these problems, but with my MP3 player the results were only temporary, and within a month or so I found that it began to have problems again.

General Comments

To somebody looking at the Matsui 120MR MP3 Player Recorder and considering it in a shop, I would say 'don't even go there', because the MP3 player is more hassle than it's worth. I still have mine (where it rarely works as an MP3 player, it still serves as a good memory stick) but I think that I'm going to buy a different one.

Overall, you'd be much better off spending a little extra to get a decent model. I bought this in December 2006, it messed up in February that year and as a result I wasted money because it was too late for me to return it. Not only that, but I've heard of people with the same MP3 player who've returned it three or four times and still had the problem. I'd advise anyone who's recently bought one to go and get their money back ASAP.
