General Comments

I bought the Weirhrauch HW57 in .22 caliber about 3 months ago for 215 pounds. I was impressed by how well balanced and light weight it was. The pop up breech was not difficult to use and once you get used to it it takes little time to load. You cock and reset the under lever and put in a pellet and push the breech down. There is less chance of trapping your fingers with this system. I used the iron sights only and was able to get 1 inch groupings at 25 yards. The open sights have a wider block lower down on the foresight and with Eley wasps I found if I aimed by this at 35 yards the shots were spot on. I am looking out for a scope as I want to go lamping in the autumn. I started using Eley wasps and could achieve decent accuracy with them but I changed to R.W.S Hobbys and found these to be more accurate plus having very good knock down power. I have been hunting with this gun a lot and have killed over 50 rabbits, 12 rats, 5 crows a stoat and a weasel. It is a very good gun. Perhaps the major downfall of the thing is the lack of silencers available. I saw one on the Weirhrauch website to fit the HW77 but it doesn't say weather this will fit the HW57. I would still recommend this gun very highly.
