Bad Points

Quoted and gave a reference number, I bought the bike and then they refused insurance because they didn't understand the licencing rules.


General Comments

I obtained a quote from Rampdale Motorcycle Insurance for a Chinese 150cc trike, at first they said I needed a full bike licence and could not ride it on a car licence. They put me on hold and then confirmed that I was correct and could ride it, they quoted and gave me a reference number. About 2 weeks later I got the trike and tried to insure with the reference number, the operator informed me that I needed a Full motorbike licence because DVLA rules say that. I tried to tell them to no avail that this was not the case!
I phoned Bikesure, who in contrast knew exactly what they were talking about. They confirmed that Rampdale were talking complete rubbish, and that a full car licence was acceptable to ride a trike. As a result of Rampdale lack of knowledge I took out my insurance with Bikesure.
