Good Points

Policy was good value.

Customer Service and aftersales almost non existent.


General Comments

I had a motorcycle insurance policy with MCE for several years as they constantly were among the lowest prices for my slightly modified bike. However, it was only after making a claim and requesting information from them that I had to deal with customer services rather than renewals. This side of the business is very poor. Each time I called them I was put on hold for at least 5 minutes, in most cases it was 15 minutes. By that time, I figured they wouldn't answer so I hung up. When I did eventually get through, they would promise to phone back or sort out problems. This never happened. Even after writing to them, there was little response. I think that even though the price is cheap, the service is so bad that I now would look elsewhere for a policy. I am still waiting for them to payout after a relatively simple theft claim. I dread to think what would have happened if the case had been more complicated. I am now insured with a different company and to be honest I would go back to MCE even if they were hundreds of pounds cheaper.
