Easy to book and usually plenty of availability.
Prices have crept up, rooms are cold, limited facilities and often in isolated locations.
Premier/ Travel Inns were always my first choice. However, the prices have crept up and the standards have dipped considerably. I no longer use them at all. The room price used to be fixed, although now it can vary on seasonal demand. I have noticed a difference in cost between identical rooms on a given night also. The company started out by providing relatively cheap and clean accommodation, but it seems to have lost its way. It seems more geared towards the family now, but then room prices are higher during the week when business use is more likely. The costs for the single traveller are no longer what I would call budget and there are better deals out there. Their typically isolated locations mean that there is usually precious little to do in or around these hotels. Useful for enforced stopovers, but that is about it.
