Good Points

Long lasting, accurate and quite powerful when maintained properly. Very simple to operate, few vices. Ideal first rifle - and beyond...

Bad Points

Looks a tad "mickey mouse" compared to the current crop of full power spring rifles, but looks are deceiving :)

General Comments

I think mine is a mark 3 or 4 - plastic sight bodies and end cover, wooden stock, no chequering. Its 30 years old this year!! Bought it for the present day equivalent of 8 litres of unleaded, thats 55 South African Rands. Recently fitted a new spring and seals and this transformed the rifle. I sense that the new spring is more powerful than the original which has caused a bit of a twang when its fired. It also seems as if the barrel may be slightly bent, but I have been able to zero the sights. Have just fitted a 4x32 scope and keen to see how she performs at 30 - 50 m

I fitted a new Nikko Stirling "Mount Master" 4 x32 scope which has transformed the rifle. No problems getting a zero so the barrel is not bent, perhaps the fixed sights were! So far the scope has held up to over a 100 pellets with no movement or signs of damage and have been able to shoot a nice tight group with it. Further comments after some long range testing in a week or two...

I have just added a NS 4x32 "Mount Masster" scope, which was very cheap but has held its zero, not shifted in the rings or broken after 200 hunderd shots or more. The bent barrel may have been a red herring as the scope has zeroed accurately about midway through its windage adjustment. Best group I have managed is about 20 mm at 12 m, which is as far as I can shoot at my home "range". Have realised that the trigger is probably the rifles weakest feature. Single stage and requires quite a bit of force. I have found myself pulling the rifle down on release and putting shots low as a result...
