Good Points

Very easy to understand, even for a novice mechanic. The hand drawn illustrations are especially helpful. I have been using various editions of this book since 1971. It has saved me THOUSANDS of dollars!

Bad Points

Non "spiral bound" later editions not as easy to use in the shop.

General Comments

I would rate this publication as one of the most useful I have bought in the past 37 years, I currently own a 71 Westfalia and still refer to this book on a regular basis. It taught me most of what I needed to know to keep my 1958, 1966, 1967 and 1969 Bugs alive back in the 70's when I was a VERY poor college student. Without this book I would not have had transportation on many occasions. My current, mint condition) , 33rd printing from April, 1987 is serving me well into this century.
