General Comments
I stayed here October 2007. The three previous visits I spent at All Stars resorts. The location is beautiful and we found the rooms comfortable, but, it was only my 17 year old daughter and myself on a girlie holiday. The first couple of days my daughter had a stomach bug and we didn't go anywhere, except when I went to get something to eat. It was a couple of minute walk to the main buildings for food, but, the surroundings were so gorgeous it didn't matter. The housekeeper that day didn't disturb us as I'd put a note on the door, but, left us plenty of towels and extra bed linen in case it was needed.
However, that is the only positive I can say about the housekeeping as my daughter threw up in the bathroom in the middle of the night and I cleaned it all up (or so I thought). Two days later I realised that the front of the toilet and the bath panel was still slightly splattered, I'd have thought they might have cleaned those areas as a matter of course. I do not think the rooms were vacuumed more than twice the whole fortnight we were there and did not seem to be dusted regularly. Nor was the top quilt which had vomit on it replaced when I took it off the bed and left the housekeeper a note explaining why it needed replacing, the quilt was taken, but, a replacement was not put on for the 12 days we were there. I feel that I shouldn't have to call housekeeping to ask them to do this. Apart from the poor housekeeping (which resulted in no tip, ask the excellent housekeeping staff at All Stars Music and Movies, I tip generously for good service) the stay was excellent, it was a very short bus trip to all parks and the buses were never crowded unlike the All Stars buses, the boat to Downtown Disney was delightful, but, don't expect to get there in a hurry and the food in the foodcourt was pretty good too although the choice at the All Stars was better for breakfast.

We're planning a return trip to POR for December as there were a lot of plus points, however, I think the housekeeping management need to improve the quality of the housekeeping there, although I will take the advice of someone else who went there and leave a small tip for the housekeeper everyday, instead of my usual habit of leaving a good tip at the end of the holiday as they said it improved the standard of the housekeeping, even though it shouldn't really.

The front of house staff were good and a special mention to the guy who helped us with our bags from our room to the lobby on our last day, he was polite, friendly and helpful, full marks to him. As a Brit who has spent time in hotels both here, in Europe and the US, Disney aren't half bad, particularly compared to the British hotels, both in room size and staff. I recently stayed at a hotel near Alton Towers that had no hairdryer, not enough pillows in the room and none to be found elsewhere and no remote for the TV, although they found one eventually that had no batteries in it so I had to put my own in and this was a large chain.
