Good Points

Always catches somebody's eye! Sharp looking scoot! I added a red leather seat to my sky-blue LX50, and nearly always get comments from people while I'm getting ready to roll. Has ALWAYS been reliable, great mileage, and just plain FUN!


Bad Points

Acceleration and torque is not that great. I just dropped my scoot off for a Malossi performance upgrade (70cc kit; power cam; variator, belt, Delta clutch) and can't wait to feel how different the scoot will perform.


General Comments

I bought this scoot summer of 2006. I've put on about 1100 miles since then. The New England winters don't allow too much riding, so I pretty much bring it out end of April and ride until the end of October. It's a BLAST! I won't have it for a couple of days while the upgrades are added -- that should help with the hills and keeping up with traffic. I wasn't so interested in added speed as I am with more initial acceleration and torque going up hills. Don't know yet how it will affect my gas mileage, but from what I've read, it won't be by much, and apparently the Malossi parts are much more rugged and built to better specs than the factory parts. I take this scoot everywhere! Really have to watch for potholes, because it's so jarring, but other than that, it's a very well balanced scoot, easy and lots of fun to ride. Highly recommended for commuting, going grocery shopping (I put a wire basket and cargo net on my back rack, and I can fit a huge amount of groceries in there!). Don't need a license here in Massachusetts, nor do I need insurance. I get to park it anywhere a bicycle can park, so it's really great in the city.
