Bad Points

- had some initial problems receiving a written quote from them but to be fair not sure whether this was them or the post office as our postal service is not a patch on what it used to be.


General Comments

I've just switched my insurance to a brand new Personal Home Plan from lloyds TSB which is aimed at people who want to tailor their cover to their needs and avoid paying for cover they don't need. I saved £60, but more importantly now have cover that is really tailored to my needs. This product is different from others in a number of very good ways :
- they offer up to 50% no claims discount for customers with up to 10 years without a claim. 50% is market leading.
- they ofeer the option to protect your no claims discount just like your car insurance
- they guarantee no increase in your premium in the second year provided you don't claim
- there are a range of cover options that you don't usually see on most home insurance policies in my experience. These include covers for fences and gates, contents in the garden, garden planys and landscaping, contents in garage / shed
- a really wide set of excess options so if you want to cut your premiums by self insuring by a high excess you can but if you want to be more conservative you can have a low excess.
