Recorded images and sound fantastic. In fact playback quality of what has been recorded can not be bettered!!
General Comments
Fabulous reproduction of recorded material, BUT unreliable as to what is recorded. Freezes at least once a week (often more frequently). One of the gizmos included is supposed to track programmes; if starting late the humax is supposed to record 'till the resulting late end time and not once has it done so! All programme recordings are ended early by 1-3 minutes so always miss end! I can't do the add on time setting if I want to auto record a series (as explained in the additional note). Sometimes it abitarily doesn't record single episodes from a series, even though there are no conflicting issues. In series' that have more than one repeat of each programme, it will record all the duplicates too. When recording a radio series I've not found a way for it to record every programme, though that might be my fault.

I found this review helpful because it re-iterates the problems I am having with the box, I was beginning to think it was just me. I bought it to replace a SKY+ box after having read many reviews that sang it's praises. On the whole I find it frustrating to use and not a patch on the ergonomics of the SKY+ box. This is not helped when it quietly doesn't record stuff that is scheduled (no error log like the Topup TV box), records the same series linked program many times (I know this is probably down to the broadcaster not getting it right but it's never happened with SKY+) leaves stuff in the "to be recorded list" after they've been successfully recorded and generally loses the start of a program even though it supposedly has "Accurate recording" set for the program.
