Good Points
General location: I first came to Burton Bradstock in 1954. My father's friend had a van at the [ originally sited ] 'Old Coastguard'. We came from Bournemouth, but - coming over the hill, from Swyre, with West Bay and, beyond, Lyme Bay , glistening in the sunshine - we thought this was paradise.
Freshwater always attracted us children because of its beach location and its this site that I visit regularly, over the last twenty five years.
Bad Points
I avoid the peak periods, as I feel that families need their own space.
and West Bay - a special little harbour - but the recent development is a complete eyesore, as a lover of Architecture, 'Oh, dear !'
General Comments
Wonderful location, including Bridport, with its busy market and fine architecture.
It's not too far from interesting and 'arty' Lyme Regis, but get to see the beautiful and quiet little local villages around, like Punknowle (Punnel), The Bredies and Powerstock.
After 54 years of regular and multiple annual returns - and despite all my global travels - just like your other reviewer, I may just finish my time, in this most wonderful Dorset location.
It IS the finest.
