Play.com promises dispatch within 24 hours.
I placed my order at around 2pm on Wednesday
At 4.30pm I received an email asking me to confirm my details by phone for security purposes (perfectly reasonable). I answered all the questions and all went apparently smoothly.
Checking the website on Thursday am I saw that my card had been declined. This was for a debit card with strong credit balance and no previous history of any refused payment.
Because of this - I assume - my order was still marked "awaiting processing". I then decided to look at other reviews for play.com. Since these turned out to be pretty horrendous I immediately cancelled my order. I won't attempt to use them again and nor should you.
I just hope my card hasn't been debited.
