Buzzy Vibrations
Hold Sensitive
I've had my .177 cal. BSA Lightning XL now for six months now, well over 1,500 pellets have been shot through my Beeza. I will break down this review into sections explaining my true life experiences with my BSA;
Accuracy: In this dept. my gun is a hit or miss depending on the day, I've tried a spectrum of pellets and every once in awhile she will shoot a flyer for no apparent reason. I believe it has a lot to do with the vibrations and recoil that the rifle generates upon firing, it's difficult to acquire good groups even at ten yards!
Feel: The XL feels nice and has very good balance for being a carbine, very nice checkering on the stock and the muzzle brake gives it a nice touch.
Trigger: What can I say BSA's sporting triggers are among the best in the world, the two stage trigger on this unit is just plain beautiful to shoot with a nice springy first stage and a very predictable second stage that breaks like glass!
Overall it's a good gun and I strongly feel that with the proper complete tune smoothing out rough edges, making the breech a bit smoother with a better barrel lock-up would turn a good gun into a great gun. The other possibilities of converting the BSA into a gas ram may resolve some of the accuracy issues that were stated above.
