The filter clogs very rapidly giving very poor suction, my model was prone to overheating, ineffective head

This Sanyo SC-780 is not one of my better purchases! Lack of suction has always been a problem, the bagless filter is next to useless unless washed after every few vacuumings to remove clogging dust and the sealing of the filter and the dust collection box/ body of the vacuum cleaner proved to be less than perfect.
It being long out of warranty, today I stripped the motor down to try and find any faults as the suction has gotten even worse than usual and the motor overheats after 2 or 3 mins use. Found the motor compartment and the motor clogged by dust, hair and debris (back to the ineffective sealing) and the rotor itself badly damaged, covered in deep gouges over nearly a 1/4 of its area, possibly a quality control issue at manufacture as I cant see any corresponding damage to the stator and the bearings are sound. Its going in the bin!
