The setup from the factory is great, the string tension is great, the guitar is the most well balanced Gibson in production (its not just for looks) and the pickups are absolutely insane...some of the best passive pickup you will ever play with.
Bad Points
I wish you could get it was a flamed maple top with having to purchase the explorer pro which is a smaller body...and I wish you could get the black explorer with an ebony fretboard (its only available on the alpine white version)
General Comments
This guitar honestly can perform on so many different levels and playing styled that it's stupid. The pickups are so hot that they compete with EMG actives, but sound way better due to them being passive. The body, as extravagant as it may seem, does have a method to its design. You can play it sitting with great comfort as well as standing with a strap. In both positions you will notice that the guitar is extremely balanced, unlike the ever so popular, and body heavy, Les Paul, or the neck heavy SG. Over all the guitar looks great, plays great, and sounds great.
