Good Points

Very reliable connection over many years. Very rarely down.

Bad Points

Customer support (technical and billing) used to be excellent, but has now been out-sourced and is very, very unhelpful I feel from my experience. It seems they can have only read from a script...

General Comments

I have been with demon for many years. They used to be excellent, answering my (few) problems promptly, helpfully and knowledgeably.

The first signs of trouble were when I moved house. They were unable to move the account, requiring me to cancel and open a new one. This incurred a cancellation fee! The cancellation process was rather awkward, with them insisting on "calling me back" at an unspecified time. I gave them my mobile number. They never called. However, they did eventually confirm by email that the account would close.

Then, they continued billing me at my old address many months afterwards, and endless phone calls and support emails were required to recover the money. Luckily, I had kept the email, which finally convinced them.

Later (stupidly thinking the above was a one-off), I took out some web-hosting with them. There was no out-bound connectivity and their support staff told me to cancel and I would get a refund. I did, but instead of giving me the refund, they direct-debited my account 100gpb for canceling. After many months of emails and phone calls where they first agree to pay and then it never arrives, they now deny ever offering me a refund.

Looking for a new provider.
