The Broadband a few years ago when it was under Telewest, and the best broadband around. Now it is one of the worst I have experienced.
Expensive and unhelpful support line in my experience..
Traffic Management - Pay for 2MB and consistently get around 500k. ToWatch a few youtube videos then get the dial up style experience as punishment I feel, when I contacted the support staff in my opinion the person I spoke to was not aware of the Traffic Management Policy and were asking me to do testing of my equipment which I knew was not at fault.
Broadband constantly going off for long periods in my experience, usually have to wait until some time the next day when it works again.
TV Set to box is slow and sluggish compared to Sky. Takes an age to switch channels and power up.
I have now finally gotten around to ridding myself of the Virgin Media "Services". It was only ever the broadband service that kept me with this provider. I never bothered watching the Television anyway, or used the landline much. When they got taken over and re-branded with the name Virgin, I imagined it would be less likely to get shafted with such a name. Turns out it went the opposite way for me personally. What used to be the best broadband around, is now easily one of the worst. Why would someone want to pay for 2MB for example, when all you ever get with the so called "Traffic Management".. I receive around 500k connection speeds? (When it's not down). The fibre optic network was advertised as futureproof a few years back and limitless. It's seems even fibre has limits.. (Somehow...) Or maybe it's just an excuse to cram more people on it? Good riddance anyway and fingers crossed my next broadband provider is better as I do not recommend VirginMedia.
