General Comments

As a whole this book is pretty much impossible to fault. It cites numerous historical references, historical detail in itself is superbly portrayed and it reads, as one critic put it, "as a novel". With easy to use maps, numerous images and easy to follow narrative technique, Beevor's "Stalingrad" is a true example of how historical writing should be done.
