Good Points

Recording/playback of recorded dvds on the default SP mode (most often used) is of very high quality- almost as good as the original picture on our Viera LCD. Even when LP mode (Long Play) mode has been used for recording longer programmes that won't fir on one disk in SP, picture is still much better than VHS. Menus are pretty easy to navigate. Timer recording (where you choose what you want to record from the unit's TV guide) is really easy & quick to setup, & very reliable. Playback quality excellent.

Bad Points

Takes ages to start up, which can be annoying if what you want to record is just starting! Also, on a couple of occasions the unit has refused to eject the DVD that it's just been recording on, saying there's an error. It tells you to restart the unit, and after going through the process a couple of times, you get your DVD back. It plays the 'problem' DVD's with no problems if you put another DVD in and then try the 'problem' one (it forgets about it!). Was going to get it looked at as it is probably faulty, but it's stopped doing it now and my warranty's run out anyway!

General Comments

The Panasonic DMREZ27 DVD Recorder is a quality DVD recorder/player- would have no hesitation recommending it as reckon mine is faulty!
