Good Points

Lightweight, Cheap (and it is cheap) Available over the counter from High Street stores.

Bad Points

Everything, has been an absolute waste of money. Managed to get it through 2 seasons, with starting problems, now there is no spark at all, wasted more money on a new spark plug now local repair centre say that a small coil which is next to impossible to obtain has failed. Suggested buying a petrol strimmer at sub £250 is asking for trouble. Only basic warranty.

General Comments

I have wasted about £100 on this strimmer which will now have to be scrapped. Therefore it has cost me £50 per season. Am now looking at a Kawasaki which whilst is £260 comes with a two year warranty and has local back up. They have advised that they supply the same models to commercial operators using them all day every day during the growing season and they just keep going. I only used about 2 litre fuel in my Mc culloch and its U/S!

I have a 250CXL - same problem, no spark. Fortunately it's still under warranty ( 2 months use!!!) but this smells like a design fault with the coils so am not very confident of the replacement lasting.
