Just arrived back from Blue Waters, Antigua. What a fabulous hotel! As you would expect from a hotel in this price bracket, we were greeted with cold flannels and rum punch and seated on lovely comfy sofas while the manager checked us in! We were taken to our room - we paid extra for the deluxe beach front - view was fab with lovely comfy furniture on the balcony (corner settee with scatter cushions was unusual). There are 3 pools - one is an adult only, but there weren't many children there anyway. We had the pool to ourselves one day! The main pool sunloungers were stupendous - like a bed mattress. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The Palm restaurant is so pretty at night and the food very good. We tried Viviens which was also very good and the Cove - which was a fab setting but I thought the food was average. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and our fellow guests were classy! Lionel Richie is staying at Rock Cottage in a couple of weeks - We had a look around the cottage as it was empty for a day while we were there - ultimate holiday pad! Highly recommended for a romantic, classy break. If I really have to think of a bad point - the pool bar closes at 6.00 p.m. and sunset is at 7.45 p.m. (bit picky I know!)
