Good Points

I have a 156 GTA 3.2 actually and it is by far one of the best cars I have owned including the Jaguar 3.0 S Type Sport it replaced. The performance and build quality is exceptional

Bad Points

None. Everyone who has seen it or been in it says it is superb

General Comments

The Alfa 156 2.0 twin spark GTA is a special engineering version of the 156 saloon upon which the European Touring Cars that race is based. You can tell as soon as you move off in first gear. The accelleration is fantastic, no torque steer, plenty of grip. The change through all six gears is perfect, far better than an M3 I had. The ride is firm but not as bone shaking as the M3. The steering at only 1.75 turns lock to lock is better than a 1980's Porsche I owned until it fell apart due to poor welds!!
The GTA carries 4 people comfortably, looks great and has the best sound this side of a 12 cylinder Ferrari.

    Dear Edgington,
I envy you! I own an Alfa 156 1,8 but your car is very probably, one of the best cars in Europe. You are lucky too, to live in a country where you can drive it and enjoy it!
What can I say, about me driving my Alfa in the police infested infernal Greek network, full with sudden notices limiting your speed from 100 to 60 Kms.
    I congratulate you
