I've been going to Butlins, Minehead for 13 years running with all of my family and we always have such a fantastic time. There's so much to do and such a wonderful safe atmosphere that you can relax and just be yourself. We particularly enjoy the activities in Hotshots such as bowling and pool, not to mention the funfair. There are also many places to eat such as Pizza Hut, Finnegans, Sun & Moon and Bar Rosso. There are many celebrities there who perform their best. In the past I have seen Chico, Ben Mills, members from X Factor, Orville and Keith Harris, Dave Benson Philips...the list is endless! Butlins is also a great place as there are so many things to do if it's raining and you don't want to go outside e.g the many facilities and activities in the dome. The accommodation is also excellent as the deluxe apartments are always clean for when you arrive, with welcoming chocolates and wine on the coffee table, nice clean towels and new bars of soap. The cleaners are also friendly and chirpy to maintain your good mood! This is matched by the optimistic nature of the Red Coats who work extremely hard to put on a good show for everyone.
As Butlins is a popular resort, there can be many queues for various places. However, this is to be expected and I think it is partly down to our own efforts to queue early for shows etc. in order to get where you want.
Most people who have never been to Butlins assume that it is a destination only for children, but this I have to say is not true. There are venues on site where only adults are allowed such as Jacks which is a night club, the Irish bar and Reds where you can see blue stand up comedy and the like. The beach and town centre of Minehead is only a short walk away, and you are free to leave the Butlins site for a few hours in order to explore the area.
Overall, I would recommend Butlins, Minehead to anyone as it is such a fun place to go!
