This book was written by a genius. Forget The Davinci Code, the dreamy, hypnotic prose of this spellbinding book had me captivated from the beginning. I assure you I almost forgot to go to Mass, I was reading so avidly. And then, when i turned up at Mass (late) I offered the book to my friend Gweneth to read, having finished it already, and it had the same effect on her! The beautifully written descriptions of Edward, the vampire, are simply captivating. The story is fantasy, but is written so convincingly that I had to convince myself that this wasn't real.
Bad Points
Finishing it! Absolutely no bad points at all, even I, a harsh critic at the age of 75, enjoyed the book immensely.
General Comments
I would quite seriously recommend the book to anyone of any age, but as a fantasy romantic novel it may not be everyone's cup of tea. The general story is about a girl and her vampire boyfriend - sounds peculiar, I know, but I assure you it is beautifully written and will absorb you from start to finish.
