The airport is Clean, quite quick check-in, on some early morning flights you can check-in the night before the early morning departure! Excellent food stores, theres Macdonald's, burger King, KFC and much more. Also there is more than enough shops of shops.
Bad Points
security is slightly slower than most airports. Stansted's and East Midlands airports were about 10 or 15 minutes. Gatwick's was about 20 minutes.
General Comments
Gatwick is a very good airport with lots of scheduled and charter flights. More than enough food stores and shops is very clean all around and in the toilets.
