Good Points

Reliable bike, perfect all year rounder ( I do 12 months a year on it) Cheap insurance! - almost nobody wants steal this bike, its cheap to buy and insure. In fact I believe there is no different in insurance either you have extra lock or not! Perfect first bike. Does easly 80mph. After this speed it takes longer to speed up.

Bad Points

max speed only 125mp/h with use of BP 97. What makes it slower than Bandit 600 and Hornet 600. But well being the slowest naked on marked sometimes isn't bad, Under sit you can't fit even break lock! (bigger one or maybe even small one won't fit).

General Comments

I got 1999 XJ 600N, as older one have only one break disc on front, everything 1998 and over has two, and breaks are important :) With BT-45 (I believe 45 is right number) this bike handles and rides perfectly. I can do on it 25-30mp/h 90 degrees corner in dry. Stops quick with standard breaks. Takes 7.5 litres per 75 miles/100km , what gives you 1 liter per every 10 miles, with my riding, and I barely go under 3000rpm. I usually ride between 3000 and 6000 rpm as I hate using breaks to slow down, gearing is much more fun for me. Two exhausts look different. I use Oxford Boss Alarm lock, so nobody sits on the bike (especially drunk people when I am clubbing) and I have noticed no change in insurance price when I removed lock on the insurer website. If you will take care of this bike it will do well for you. I insured bike when I was 22, with not even one year license (but one year no claim discount - had one scooter 105cc) and I paid 550 with recovery and lawyers cover. And I am sure you should take both of these extras as they are very useful.
