Good Points

Accuracy is stunningly effective. Pellets types do influence the consistency of patterns. Crossman premiers seem to out perform in consistency over other brands. Great looking rifle (Walnut stock model).

Bad Points

Safety is inconsistent. The safety does not always catch correctly and the weapon becomes ready. Sometimes I can get the safety to catch by re-cocking, but once in a while the safety just does not go to safe. This is an issue - when it comes to guns, safety is not negotiable. The safety does seem to be catching more frequently after a drop of oil and as I break the gun in, but again, safety should not require a break in period!

General Comments

This is my first springer - I purchased it based on reviews so I am going to offer my opinon for those interested.

At first, I struggled with hitting the bullseye consistently. I qualified expert in the military, and have a long history with marksmanship. I then read an article on how to shoot a springer and the results were immediate. There is a technique and as soon as I learned the feel, accuracy was no longer an issue.

I am putting lead on top of lead - directly in the bullseye - volley after volley. I am very impressed with the sustained accuracy this model produces.

Plenty of knock-down power for small game.

Scope is the Nikko Stirling 4-16x44 Platinum Nighteater.

I purchased the gun through Straight Shooters and highly recommend them based on their demonstrated expertise with airguns and excellent service.

Hello - can you remember what article you read on how to shoot a springer ? I'm just getting into it and some decent instruction would be handy.
