Good Points

POWER, nice looking stock, fast smooth firing cycle.

Bad Points

Finish on stock is very brittle, cocking effort.

General Comments

I bought my Beeman RX-2 in .22 cal used for $325. It arrived without a single blemish on the entire gun. I am very pleased with every aspect of the gun except for the clear coat used on the finish (laquer?) of the wood, it is very brittle and quite susceptible to minor dings, mine acquired 3 or 4 chips in the finish before I noticed it. I really like the gas ram, very smooth to cock and shoot. The safety is resettable via a small lever in front of the trigger gaurd. I bought the pellet sampler from StraightShooters (very nice and helpful people) to find the best pellet. It likes the JSB Exact for long range accuracy and power, but did not shoot many of the RWS pellets very well. I took off the front sight, which is mounted on a dovetail cut into the barrel, to mount a Swift premier 4-12x40 scope with a BKL #253 mount. The receiver has 3 shallow holes milled in it for a scope stop, so I installed a scope stop also. So far no scope creep. The trigger is adjustable, but I have found no need to use this feature as the trigger is smooth and predictable. With the scope the gun is kinda heavy, but this helps to stabilize the gun and reduce felt recoil, improving accuracy. I would like to see a 12 groove barrel and a better finishing material. I have owned a Gamo and a Crosman, both springers and this gun is far superior to both. In summary I am quite pleased with my RX-2 and would recommend it to anyone wanting a magnum power air rifle.

Don't know what a 12 groove barrel could do that a 6 groove can't...I have to think the engineers at Weihrauch know which is best for which caliber. The RX2 puts most shots in the same ragged hole, how much better does the barrel need to be?
