Bad Points

I bought a large frame from ART but needed to change it because the size was wrong. I returned to the shop the net day but they didn't have the same design available so I was issued with a credit note as they wouldn't give me a refund. The shop then closed down unexpectedly. It opened again this week but when I returned there to make a purchase with my credit note I was told that the owners who were Springfield Retail, had gone into administration, and the "new" owners Art Retail would not accept credit notes previously issued.

General Comments

I thought the shop had always been owned by Art Retail and where the name Springfield Retail has come from, goodness alone knows. The credit note did not even have the name of the shop on it. I certainly won't be shopping there again and I would advise anyone doing so not to accept a credit note from them.

I had a similar problem, so i looked into it and discovered the previous owners were Springfield Retail Ltd based in East kilbride - and the company had gone into administration. The new owners ART Retail Ltd, have head offices in Wiltshire. I contacted them and they explained that even though the shop had the same name on the outside, the company is new - and therefore it would be 'like buying a DVD in HMV and then returning it to Woolworths.'
