General Comments

I have bought online from Dixons before without any problems but having ordered a 40" Sony LCD TV from them I became a bit concerned due to some of the reviews that I read on this site, especially when the unit delivered turned out to have a problem and was going to have to be returned for a replacement. I needn't have worried and have nothing but praise for the service I received from Dixons. My reason for buying from Dixons was primarily price. Their price was simply the best available anywhere and included free delivery. I placed the order on a Sunday afternoon and was given a choice of delivery dates. I chose the earliest date which was the Thursday of that week. Subsequent emails confirmed this date and gave details on how to check the proposed delivery time within a 4 hour slot. The actual time would then be confirmed by the driver by phone within an hour of the delivery. Now living in the Highlands of Scotland such delivery arrangements are normally taken with very large pinches of salt. Anytime within 2-3 days of a quoted online date and you are doing well. True to their word, however, I received a call at 8.30am on the due date and Dixons own delivery van was at my door 30 minutes later. The delivery guys even offered to install and set up the TV for me. It wasn't until the following day, while going over all the TV € s features, that I noticed there was a defect with the screen. One call to Dixons Customer Services (answered within 30 seconds) and they arranged for a replacent to be delivered. This duly arrived 3 days later with exactly the same delivery arrangements as the original. The same guys also took the defective unit away after reconnecting and retuning the new set to ensure that I was happy with the replacement. In light of other reviews I may have just been very lucky but I just wanted to let people know what my experience has been. I cannot fault them and as far as I am concerned, they can and do provide an excellent service.
