Bad Points

A touch thirsty perhaps. Lights initially a little under-powered - cured with a change of bulbs.


General Comments

I love my Vauxhall Sintra! Comfortable; reliable; variable `goods' capacity - fantastic with `2 up'; very tight with `7 up' (difficult to get a picnic in!). Handles my luggage trailer very nicely. I look forward to quite a few more years pleasure. Roomy & comfortable! Very fast on M-ways if you want it to be. Mine is an ex-demo, bought for a good price @ 3mths old (Dec '98). Has been properly serviced annually - MoT 2006 and 2007 shows CO Limit 0.200, actual val 0.017 (Fast Idle), CO limit 0.300 & actual val 0.004 (Nat Idle) with original engine & (Beautiful) Gearbox. Expensive to service @ Vauxhall garages. My other beloved car to which the Sintra compares very favourably was a very nice 1978 BMW 316 2-door four seat coupe that I owned and used for 2 pass plus luggage from mid '78 until it died in 2004 (rust through-out floor pan). The comparison , of course, is in the handling, reliability and running costs areas and those I found to be very similar. The driving pleasure I get (and got) was immense - still is for the Sintra. Its width and length make it a little awkward in tiny country lanes of course but you know that when you take it in. Good with appropriately sized trailer. Very good paint finish - I've only ever cold washed mine & dried with a leather - shines brilliantly!
I have found my Sintra in the last 9.5 years to be a pleasure to own!
