Good Points
Good points - extremely friendly staff, food excellent, any special requests catered for, met at the end of each tour with a hot towel to refresh ourselves and a drink, shop on board with fixed prices so no need to barter to purchase gifts and the prices were comparable with bazaar/market some were cheaper and all gold purchased in shop backed by Thomas Cook if any problems when you get home.

Bad Points
Absolutely NO BAD POINTS.

General Comments
The first week of The Golden Nile cruise is spent on The Royal Rhapsody or one of its sister boats, the second week was split into 4 nights on the Prince Abbas (Lake Nasser) and 3 nights in Cairo (Semiramis Intercontinental).

Anyone staying on The Royal Rhapsody will be looked after to the highest standard. The food served at breakfast, lunch and dinner was excellent - I cannot praise the chefs enough. Choice was out of this world and the staff could not do enough for us. The food and staff on the Prince Abbas were a bit of a let down after the service provided by The Royal Rhapsody. If it was possible to take The Royal Rhapsody out of the River Nile and place it on Lake Nasser then we would have been in 7th heaven. The hotel in Cairo was magnificent - what luxury!

Our Tour Manager, Salwar, was absolutely brilliant - what a knowledge she has and full of "stories" for each tomb. She made this holiday extra special with her kindness and good humour. I would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone wishing to see ancient Egypt and learn about Egypt's history. Do not take this tour if you want to spend time sunbathing although most afternoons are free to spend by the pool - each day starts early - 4, 5 or 6 a.m. depending on the visit that day. Trainers/good shoes are advisable for the tours (not flip flops) and on some days socks are advised - scorpions!

All in all this was a most memorable holiday (in my case to celebrate my 50th birthday). I will treasure the memories and the care that was taken by the staff on this boat and Salwar, our Tour Manager, to make it the best time for all the guests.
