We set up a policy with Zurich Car Insurance a year ago and we've managed to go through two claim procedures - one: not at fault, the other one: single car accident, so from Zurich point of view at fault. When not at fault: we were given a brand new Volvo V70 (we insured a P-reg Volvo S40) as a courtesy car, we kept it until we received a cheque for old car (write off), which was about 6 weeks after the incident. It wasn't that nice after the single car accident - we got a Matiz from Enterprise for 4 days only as a courtesy car (we insured a T-reg Passat), but we received the cheque withn 3 weeks after the accident (again, write off - we've been really unlucky with cars this year). Not too bad at all...
