Cool stuff.
Some of the synth sounds are kind of lame and it takes a bit of time, like any instrument, to learn how to play it. Being a completely new style of instrument, with the technology only being used by a handful of other synth makers (moog for instance) it just takes time to learn.
I just give the Korg Kaoss Pad an 8 because of the KP3 being a better unit. The KAOSS pad is just awesome, from KP1 on... even the little guitar one is pretty cool. The 4 samples + drum machine + delay + loops + infinite other effects make it a super unit to have when making interesting music. Some kid is dorking out in his bedroom right now making the next "popular" song with this machine.
Hooking it up with a MicroKorg, keyboard, guitar, or turntables is amazing. I've been playing for quite a while, and I'm hearing completely new sounds every time I play. KAOSS pads are worth the money for artists if you can't afford the more expensive units. KP3 has a better graph of where your finger is reading on the grid. KP2 just makes a tough-mark. I suggest watching youtube videos of both to see the difference.
