Macro mode, image quality between 4 and 8 feet
Dark LCD, low-light image quality, digital zoom
I got the camera on the strength of the brand and the spec; I have used Fuji cameras before. The price was superb as was the service - I will never buy a digital camera from anywhere else, even though I had to send the Fuji 2300 back. The LCD is next-to-useless in low-light conditions, including indoors during daylight with curtains open. For macro-mode you have to ensure the subject is well lit but the quality of output from this mode was impressive. Image quality between four and eight feet was very, very good, though in some lighting conditions the colour banding on large areas of colour was unpleasant to look at. Over eight feet you take pot luck! Using the digital zoom is a waste of time as it can only be used at the lowest resolution, do use of a decent image-processing package would do the job adequately. If the LCD had been clearer and lighter, I would have kept the camera.
