As a commercial digital photographer I have used both the 600 and 620 with great success. The optical lens is excellent and attachments are many and varied. I have sold many photo's where people did not notice any difference to a real photo. The improvements in buffer and flexibility of the 620 make it the more desirable of the two cameras.

Olympus will modify your D500L/D600L digital camera to take 32MB SmartMedia memory cards, for $69.99 through the end of this year. This will allow you 4 times the storage capacity as originally issued. The D620L with its greater buffering capability is the best choice of the three but don't pass up a good D500L or D600L at a bargain price. Best accessory: 43mm step up rings, allowing you to use high quality add on telephoto and wide angle lenses designed for camcorders and digital cameras. (Note: Use the telephoto lenses at maximum power.)
