Local
Badly maintained machinery, tired decor, tied into a contract with a 3 month cancellation period and if you want to go on holiday and ask to freeze your membership for that month you still have to give 3 months notice. So don't book any last minute holidays!
I was a member of David Lloyds for many years, when i moved to Dartford, the local Gym was Next Generation, it really is a grim looking gym, but because it is local i decided to join. Every time i visit, the dull lighting and decor doesn't inspire. Anyway, today i asked them to freeze my membership for a month as i was going on holiday for the whole month. They couldn't do it as i have to give 3 months notice, i opted for my 3 months termination notice instead. Even with that the receptionist said that if i was a member for less than a year i couldn't give my notice. I can only give my 3months notice when the year was up. Which means they get an extra 3 months out of you.
