Good Points
The quiet laid back get up and go, I have quite a commute every day from 40 to 160 Miles and this thing just soaked up the miles. As another review said it really pulls from 90 to 120 mph (I drive a lot in Germany) and is just totally competent in all conditions. tires really last 20K even driving quite quick. Better than the 8K from my previous TDI with turbo lag then then everything. The V6 build quality is great and I love the coal pit black interior. Red and Blue dash mmm Nice. No cam belts, really great service from the main dealer.
Bad Points
Hated the rain sensing wipers that you can't set to real intermittent. Coil packs that catch fire! Roll bar bushes that fall to bits when you have some fun on a twisty road. The accelerator pedal seems to be a bit too loaded at the top, 1st gear is too short, Making friends with all the local filling stations (26 - 30) MPG and £3,500 in 18 Months on fuel!
General Comments
The Volkswagen Golf 4Motion is the best car I ever had, it's nice looking forward to a long trip, safe and comfortable. We had road works outside our village for a year and there was mud all over, you could pull out and fly up the hill without a hint of wheel spin. Had a couple of problems with the coil packs, the dealer was fantastic, even after the warranty was out they replaced the packs at no cost and apologised for the car letting me down. Only Gordon Brown spoils this car.
