Having transferred two credit cards over to a Virgin Money card with a 0% interest period, I paid the first minimum payment before my due date and then about a week later paid more than twice the minimum payment I expected for the next statement to ensure I would not miss a payment. Despite this, Virgin charged me £12 in late fees + £22 interest and removed my interest free period. This is because unlike other cards, you can only make a 'minimum payment' between the statement date and the due date. Any payment made between the due date and the subsequent statement date doesn't count. After saying that I would complain in writing, the girl on the phone reinstated the interest free period 'as a good will gesture' but I will be writing to get all the money back in full.
