Been with them for a number of years with no complaints ........ until now!
Just had my annual renewal notice and was surprised to see that the charge had gone up to 144 pounds. Checked out a breakdown cover comparison website and found that had I joined as a new member, the identical level of cover - Roadside, Homestart and Relay - would have cost £105 piunds. Called them and was given an immediate 25 pound discount but not the 35 pounds to match new member fee. Have now swicthed to another provider as a new member at 75 pounds for the same cover as the AA offered.
Seems like the breakdown services have adopted the bad habits of the insurance companies in charging existing and loyal customers higher fees so that we can subsidise any new members they try to attract.
I had hoped for better form the AA. May rejoin them again next year as I'll be a new customer then but 0/10 for loyalty!
