- All of Kylie Minogue's hottest singles on the same album.
- The order of track's on both CD's work effortlessly to guide the listener through the work's of Kylie.
- Some of her Deconstruction work that should have made this album, such as Dreams, Cowboy Style and Too Far didn't make the album. (Although I appreciate that it must have been a hard choice to narrow the song choices down)
Having reviewed Kylie's new album X, I was stunned to see that no one had reviewed Ultimate Kylie. So I thought I'd give it a go!
What can be said about this album? Well, it's exactly what it says. Ultimate Kylie. On this hot little CD you will find works from Kylie spanning her whole career pre-X release of course. The first CD is early Kylie with some proper pop-cheese tunes including the Locomotion and I Should Be So Lucky. Some critics (e.g. Stylist Magazine, Mark Edwards) thought the first CD was full of "horribly naff" songs. I have to disagree. Taking into account the time of release, these songs served their purpose and I think that they are exceptional. Tracks like 'Better the Devil You Know', 'Shocked' and 'Step Back In Time' all sound very modern and fresh even today in my opinion.
The 2nd CD is the reinvention CD if you will. This is where you find Kylie's dark and mysterious turn to Deconstruction and her transformation from superstar to icon began. This is where you find Kylie's biggest hits including the phenom that is 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head.
I don't feel the need to say anymore because this CD sells itself. For every pop music lover!
