General Comments
I went to see School Of Rock expecting good things, but it was better than good, it was just so funny. Jack Black is a very unique talent in that he can be so humourous at the same time as making catchy music. I don't normally like movies with kids in them, but the kids in this film actually all added their own little bit of humour. After leaving the cinema I could have quite happily sat down and watched this film again, and I won't say that about many films. Anyway for those of you who don't know here is the basic story line, it's a bit cheesy but it works and you don't think that when you're watchin it.
Duey (Jack Black) is in a bad rock bad, they throw him out due to his stage diving and over the top showmanship. He has no job and his room mate wants some rent after being badgered by his ranting girlfriend. Then Duey recieves a phone call originally for his room mate offering him a teaching job in a posh public school. Duey pretends to be his friend and takes the job. He then discovers the kids all have musical ability, as they all play classical instruments. He soon converts them to the path of Rock, and trys to teach them what it is to truely rock, and therefore form a new band with himself and the kids. They then enter a battle of the bands competition after practising with out anyone knowing.
The music is quality, and I'm not really into Heavy Rock Music, but if you know your AC DC from your Motorhead you will probably enjoy this film even more than me. Go see this film. Jack Black is officially The Man! (but in a good way, not like in the film, if you've seen it this insane ramble will make sense).
