Good Points

Their shoe designs have the chunky footer in mind, and they also have a wide range of clothes for ALL ages, not just younger or older.

Bad Points

The cut of the clothes, especially jeans, is sometimes very flawed. In New Look I'm a size 24 in jeans yet struggle with 26 in Evans? Their bras are the same - 42DD in Evans, 40D in M&S. Are they trying to make their customers think they're bigger then they are? Also, the prices are understandable, but £20 for a T-shirt can be ridiculous sometimes!

General Comments

Since I was a little girl I've always been on the plus size, and I grew up knowing first hand how brutal the fashion industry can be in how they expect young women to look. There have always been plus sized shops, t wasn't until my late-teens that certain high street giants finally started catering to the more youthful BBWs! Up until recently I'd always found Evans to be very mature and frumpy, having a "take it or leave it attitude" and not really caring what their customers want. "You need clothes, fatties, and we're all you have". Well, I think in the last two of three years Evans have REALLY turned their image around! The quality and look of their designs are in definite competition with other beautiful highstreet retailers, they've started considering the more funky, glam and sexy side to big women and they've really added a lot of variety to their old image. A lot of people have said the opposite to this of course - that Evans have lost touch with their customers. I think this is maybe because Evans are actually trying to target younger people now instead, although I don't condem anyone for complaining. It's tough not being catered too, and even tougher when a shop like Evans no longer holds you in mind. They continue to have a range for older women - classy, smokey colours, elegant - but it is VERY small nowadays. I'm thrilled I've found a shop where I needn't go anywhere else to feel trendy and my age, but I'm aware I'm not going to be 19 forever! Keep your more mature girl in mind, Evans!
