A gentle introduction to managing feelings associated with loss.
Helpful for younger children, 4+, but has wider applications - can be used for school assembly - helping to deal with the loss of a schoolfriend/teacher, change of schools etc.
Lovely vocabulary to stretch junior children i.e. 7-9's.

The illustrations are lovely and fine for sharing in a small group, but need to be magnified for larger group use.

I immediately made links to 'Wind in the Willows' when I read Badger's Parting Gifts and have used it to talk to children about how writers can be inspired by other works.
