US staff was really nice and cabin crew from IAD to Copenhagen were professional though not really friendly. At least they don't nickel and dime you on food, drink or headphones. Once you get past the US check in, the staff aren't very friendly. The big problem for me, though, was the seven hour layover in Copenhagen with a terrible cold. In the US, they said no problem, we'll put you on an earlier flight and gave me a reservation slip for the earlier flight. In Copenhagen, the Transfer center person in the back (who didn't come out and speak to me personally) said no, you can't go on the earlier flight because of a restriction on your ticket. They had room, and could have sold me a ticket from Copenhagen to Berlin (a 1 hour flight) but it would be $2300 US. I note there is a sign at the Transfer center that says that angry behaviour will not be tolerated (I'm not going back over there to check). So I am stranded in the Copenhagen airport, coughing my lungs out and wandering the place looking for anywhere to lie down. I checked out the hotel attached to the airport, but a twin room was over $500 US. There are no other affordable flights out of here and the train wasn't affordable. I will NEVER forget that SAS refused to show me a little compassion and get me out of here four hours earlier. If you are a stickler for rules and like stand offiish but professional behaviour, this is the airline for you. If you prefer a little personality and compassion in a bad situation, do NOT use this airline.
