The only "good" camera I ever bought, way back in highschool, and it still performs exceptionally today.
heavy, compared with today's cameras, but I am so used to it that in comparison today's cameras feel "cheap" to me.
Recently ran into someone at a dog show with the exact same camera I had, both of us noted the others AE-1 and we both remarked, "don't ever get rid of it!" Maintenance? All I've ever done is change the battery and blow the dirt out of it. This camera is a real trooper.
